Michael Batell began building classical guitars in 1971, apprenticing with Harley Day, Constructor de Guitarras in St. Petersburg, Florida. He went on to study historic instruments at university until 1973, and in 1974 formed the partnership Day & Batell, Instrument Makers. The partners continued making classical and flamenco guitars but also specialized in historic instruments including Viola Da Gambas, Lutes, Vihuelas, Harpsichords, Virginals and Clavichords. Michael Batell moved to Germany in 2007 and now focuses primarily on classical and flamenco guitars. Batell guitars are characterized by superior clarity and definition combined with long sustain, vibrant trebles and resonant basses. This is a very nice Michael Batell guitars with spruce top and back and sides made of santos rosewood. The guitar was completed in June 2014. The Neck is made of Mahogany. The Fingerboard is made of Ebony.
